Juice ’Til Dinner

Total Commitment.... Until Dinner

FAQ's

Q: How is JTD different than a BPC juice cleanse?

A: You can chew! With JTD you will start the day with juice and end with a mostly raw dinner. Although not a cleanse, JTD can still help detoxify the body. Like the juice, the raw food meals provided during JTD contain important enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients needed to detoxify the body. This is a great way to prepare for and break your BPC juice cleanse.

Q: Why JTD?

A: During the day, when you are active, you will drink fresh pressed, easy to digest juice, packed with important nutrients and usable energy. At night, when you slow down and your body has time to focus on digestion, your JTD entrees and dessert will be prepared and waiting, ready for you to enjoy. Both the juice and food are alkaline, therefore helping the body to restore pH balance. During JTD you will also be eliminating dairy, meat, wheat, sugar, additives, and artificial ingredients from your diet, a tough feat when eating out or preparing your own meals! JTD is 100% vegan, mostly raw and the easiest way to incorporate a cleaner diet.

Q: What if I want to eat my raw meal for lunch?

A: Of course we can't stop you, but we do recommend holding off on solids until the end of the day. The order in which you consume your "food" directly affects how you absorb, assimilate, and digest nutrients. Easing into the day is very important. The goal is to keep the flow of food moving through the digestive tract, allowing your body to absorb ALL of the vitamins and nutrients without interruption. For that same reason we would not recommend drinking another juice after dinner; the juices are best when digested by an empty stomach. When we sleep our body rests from digestion and begin the process of self-cleansing. You know that morning breath you woke up with? That's evidence of the expulsion of toxins that has been going on while you slept. Breaking the fast with easy to digest foods allows your body to continue the cleansing process and to eliminate any waste (or toxins) released overnight. Continuing with juice throughout the day perpetuates this process. Eating your "dinner" for lunch will interrupt this delicate cycle. It is best to save the more complex foods for the end of the day when you are less active and your body can focus on digestion.

Q: Is JTD considered a cleanse? If juicing is to rest your digestive system, doesn't eating break this rest?

A: JTD is a modified cleanse; it cannot be qualified strictly as a cleanse because it includes solid foods. During the day when you are drinking juice (along with a lot of water and herbal tea) you are in effect doing a "mini-cleanse." Our BPC prepared food will not introduce any new toxins as it is almost completely raw, 100% vegan, and contains no additives, preservatives, or artificial ingredients.

Q: How does it work?

A: Order JTD for one, two, or three days before your juice cleanse to help start the detox process gradually and achieve maximum results.
-Order JTD one, two, or three days after your juice cleanse to give your body extra detox benefits and transition out of the juice cleanse smoothly.
-Or order JTD alone for several days in a row (three to seven days for best results). This is a raw food detox, less intense than a juice cleanse.

Q: Why should I do it?

A: JTD offers an easy way to reap the benefits of a mostly raw food diet without fully committing to a raw juice cleanse. It can be used as excellent preparation for your cleanse or as a transition afterwards to help maintain all the hard work you've done. Just because you opt for JTD over a BPC juice cleanse does not mean that you have commitment issues. JTD can be enjoyed on a longer-term basis; having some solid food at the end of the day really helps you go the distance and stick with the program. We consider it a happy medium and a great option for those who want to kick-start some healthier habits, but still would like something to chew on.

Q: What kind of benefits will I feel from Juicing 'Til Dinner, versus the benefits I feel after regular BPC cleansing?

A: Just like the juice cleanse, JTD will flush the blood with live enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients needed to support detoxification and cleansing. Adding a solid dinner will slow this process because the body will have to switch its energy from cleansing to digestion. The food will also dilute any toxins in the blood stream. For these reasons many of the typical detox symptoms you may feel during a cleanse will be lessened. This is a great option for someone who is reluctant to do a juice cleanse for fear of potential unsightly detox symptoms.

Q: How long should I JTD? How often?

A: As long as you want, but as a rule of thumb, listen to your body! It will serve as the best judge of what you need. Of course, the longer you stay on JTD the greater the benefit. We like doing a 3-day JTD before and after any length juice cleanse. It's also a convenient way to supplement an otherwise not-so-healthy-diet.

Q: Is it important to finish all the juices and food?

A: Yes, and hopefully you will want to! But if you simply cannot, make sure you do finish both green juices as they are the MOST important. Also be sure that once you switch to solids you don't switch back to juice. In short... if you consume any type of fruit, especially in the form of juice, after a solid meal... well, let's just say that your office mates won't be pleased.

Q: Does the calorie content make this plan unreasonable to use for weight loss?

A: Absolutely not! Like anything else, it depends on the person, or rather the size of the person and what they are normally used to consuming. JTD is very clean and easy to digest food. Remember, if you are properly digesting your food, then you should eliminate more efficiently and in return carry less waste in your system. Remember: waste = weight. Focus on the quality of your food and digestion, not calories.

Q: Do I need to prepare for JTD? What should I eat before and after?

A: Prepare for JTD like you would prepare for our cleanse. A few days before you start, phase out coffee, sugar, meat, dairy, and all processed and refined foods. Begin to add fresh fruit, greens and veggies at every meal.

Q: Is it important to get colonics during JTD?

A: It is not as important as during a cleanse but is still recommended. You will not be adding any new toxins to your body during JTD but it is still important that you get rid of the old. To ensure this happens you may want to consider a colonic or a self-administered enema. If the thought of both of these is too scary, try an herbal laxative.

Q: Can I JTD if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: JTD will most likely not include enough calories for a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, but is a great addition to anyone who is looking to increase the amount and quality of vitamins and nutrients in their diet. Always check with your doctor before beginning any program.

Q: Can I do JTD alone or should it be combined with a cleanse?

A: Juice 'Til Dinner is an excellent and easy way to experience a mostly raw food diet and refocus your eating habits around raw fruits and vegetables. You can also use JTD to help you prepare or break your cleanse, deepening the effects of your cleanse and helping to maintain all the progress you've made.

Q: Is it 100% raw? 100% vegan?

A: JTD is 100% vegan and mostly raw. The food is about 90% raw, as we do not believe in the use of nuts as the base of every dish just so that we can say it is 100% raw - that will not go down very well with your stomach.

Q: Which parts are raw and which aren't?

A: The juice is of course 100% raw and unpasteurized. Most of the ingredients in the dinner are also raw foods with a few exceptions such as buckwheat soba noodles and steamed edamame.

Q: Is this food detoxifying? Alkaline?

A: Yes and yes. Raw juice and food provides live enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients all needed to support the body's natural cleansing and detoxification process. The juice and raw food are also highly alkaline, helping to restore the body's pH balance. It is also important to keep in mind what is NOT provided by the juice and raw food... no dairy, meat, sugar, wheat, alcohol, caffeine, additives, or preservatives.

Q: Can children JTD?

A: We do not recommend it. Children need more calories than we provide in our juice cleanse or JTD. That being said, fresh juice and healthy raw food are excellent sources of vitamins and nutrients so desperately needed by growing bodies. Swap that Snapple for a BPC Spicy Lemonade!

Q: Are the ingredients grown locally?

A: Most of our produce comes from California but we strive to use local products whenever possible.

Q: Are the food ingredients organic?

A: We try and use organic ingredients whenever possible.

Q: Can I freeze the food?

A: Freezing the food will in effect kill the live enzymes that aid in digestion and detoxification. That doesn't sound like a good idea does it? BPC meals are made to order and guaranteed fresh for 3 days but if you are unable to eat the food in that time we suggest you share with a friend!
